This cottage is everyone’s idea of the perfect romantic retreat – picture book pretty with roses around the door and we are simply delighted to add it to our portfolio of lovely places to stay.

Situated down a quiet village lane leading to a ford across the river Glaven,  Middle Cottage exudes old fashioned comfort and charm, furnished with lovely antiques and collectables and offering a haven away from the everyday hectic pace of life!

A lavender lined garden path leads to the front door which opens into the cosy sitting room. A small sofa and armchair cluster around the wood burning stove and there is a small TV for evenings at home. Through into the kitchen which has all the basics, including an electric oven and hob, stainless steel sink and fridge on one side and a lovely little Georgian breakfast table on the other. The back door leads to an enclosed inner courtyard off which is the summerhouse. Tucked on one side is a freezer and a washing machine, and wicker chairs and table are placed in front of the double doors looking down the pretty cottage garden to the mill pond beyond – a blissful spot to sit and sip a gin and tonic and watch the sunset!

Stairs from the sitting room lead straight up into the double bedroom which has a lovely traditional feel, crisp white linen and soft towels and is wonderfully airy and light. A small rear landing leads to the small single room and bathroom both looking over the delightful garden to the rear.

This gem of a cottage, so original and sweet, is an ideal base to explore this beautiful part of North Norfolk. The lovely market town of Holt is just a mile away from Letheringsett and the coast at Blakeney approximately 4 miles away. The charming owners are very happy  to accept well behaved dogs (wonderful walks abound from the cottage!) but would like to point out that the cottage is not suitable for children.
